GNCA Strengthens Partnership with Performer Appreciation Event
On March 1st of 2024, leaders and representatives from Toronto Elder’s Choir, Toronto Christian Saxophone Orchestra, Toronto Accord Saxophone Orchestra, and Toronto Yum Kwang Church Ebenezer Women’s Choir and Good Neighbours Canada—totaling 9 attendees—gathered for a performers’ appreciation meeting hosted by Good Neighbours Canada. These performing groups came together to make our December 2023 benefit concert as impactful as possible, and so this meeting was held at the GNCA office in order to honour the generosity of these brilliant musicians and strengthen our relationships with some great fundraisers.
The GNCA management team gave a presentation to the performers to share the charity’s recent funding outcomes, feedback from the performers’ concert event, and the future directions planned for Good Neighbours Canada. We expressed sincere appreciation for the performers' support and that we hope for future partnerships with them to create positive social impact.
The “Harmony for Hope: A Christmas Concert” event, held in the Toronto Dream Church last December, was remembered positively by all. The concert featured over 100 musicians and was held to raise funds for the orphaned children of Ukraine. An impressive fundraising total of over $10,000 was raised from the event which appealed to children and adults alike, and it is through the collaborative promotional efforts of the performers’ teams and GNCA that we were able to sell so many tickets and grow the impact of this wonderful evening.
