On a cold and rainy December 9th, 2023, Toronto Dream Church transformed into a haven of warmth and compassion. The sale of over 300 tickets signaled the unwavering commitment of attendees to a greater cause-the well-being of orphans who have been displaced by the ongoing Ukraine war. While the weather was dreary, the atmosphere inside Dream Church was anything but the anticipation and hope of the audience filled every corner, setting the stage for an inspiring concert that would leave a lasting impact.

Love, enthusiasm, and joy took center stage, brought to life by the exceptional performances of six local musician groups;

  • Toronto Yumkwang Church Ebenezer Women’s Choir
  • Toronto Elder’s Choir
  • Christian Saxophone Orchestra
  • Toronto Accord Saxophone Orchestra
  • Toronto Saxophone Collective
  • Toronto Korean Seventh-day Adventist Church Ensemble

Good Neighbors Canada gives thanks for these incredible artists, who made our concert a collective expression of solidarity for the children affected by the war.

The grand finale featured Christmas tunes played by the combined 100+ musicians from all six groups, an unforgettable  moment for our audience. Guests were treated to a special visit from Santa distributing sweet treats during the Christmas carols, and the audience became active participants throughout this final 100-strong piece, fostering a sense of togetherness that went beyond the music.

Throughout the evening, attendees also had opportunities to engage with a cafe, photo booth, and New Year’s wishing wall-crafted with care by our dedicated team of 25 volunteers.

 Collective efforts and generous support resulted in a significant fundraising achievement of $9,890. This meaningful sum will be directed towards supporting Ukrainian orphans in Romania. We are incredibly thankful to our major donors of the event;

  • Cupcake Junkie
  • UMC
  • Korea Global Logistics
  • Joyce Lee

whose support helped us reach this total, as well as our audience members for their ticket purchases and on-site donations, and the additional donations received from generous supporters who could not make it to the concert, but still sent their gifts towards our cause.

Our heartfelt gratitude extends to the six music teams, Music Director Kang Seak Gon, our staff and volunteers, and all our lovely attendees whose contributions ensured the resounding success of this event.
