Heroes from Home: helping people in Guatemala
August 07, 2020
Good Neighbors Guatemala has created the Heroes from Home campaign to help children and their communities with food and medical support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative is a series of benefit concerts with the goal of raising funds for food supplies, water and masks. So far they've helped over 2,500 families!
Supporting their efforts, Good Neighbors Canada's ambassador Chad Price and Cindy Quick will be performing on August 4, at 9:30 PM EST, via Facebook Live - @gnguate.
This next episode will feature many artists from around the world!

What is your history with Guatemala?
Guatemala has been on Good Neighbors Canada's radar for a while now. The country's is home to Muun, one of the cooperatives under the MERRYCOOP umbrella. We have had the pleasure to receive some of their beautiful artisanal products last year to sell via our Goods4Causes shop.
The second edition of our Save a School campaign is also going to renovate a primary school in El Cedro, Guatemala - helping 326 students. We were scheduled to have a fundraiser for this initiative in May, Minds in Bloom, but had to postpone it to 2021, in light of COVID-19.
