Good Neighbors Cameroon organized a day full of recreational and educational activities for Menstrual Health Day.
Women and girls learned about menstrual hygiene and could ask all their questions. They also received menstruation bracelets and reusable pads.⠀
Real facts about periods⠀
When Good Neighbors Cameroon first held a focus group discussion in 2017, 99% of Méhé women said their first menses surprised them, and they felt like something was wrong.
96% of the female population do not talk about menstruation.
In 2021-2022, Good Neighbors Cameroon is addressing knowledge gaps and taboos in the the village of Méhé, making sure girls and women have access to reliable information about reproductive health and hygiene.⠀
