Support refugees from Ukraine

With COVID-19 restrictions lifting, 2022 started to show signs that it would be a promising year. However, on February 24, the world woke up to the news of Ukraine being bombed by Russia.

In only a week, one million refugees have fled Ukraine, according to the UN. Half a million are children.

As reported by CNN, "it took three months for one million refugees to leave Syria in 2013 when departures there were at their height".

This is a humanitarian crisis.

As fighting continues and nuclear threats are made, residents internally displaced are without electricity and water.

So far, this is what we know about refugees' arrivals in neighbouring countries:

• 548,000 people reached Poland.
• 144,000 people reached Russia.
• 133,000 people reached Hungary.
• 98,000 people reached Moldova.
• 79,000 people reached Slovakia.
• 51,000 people reached Romania.
