Hope Starts with a Meal: Supporting Ukrainian Orphans in Romania

Good Neighbours has a team in Romania, near the borders, to assist refugees and people who are still in Ukraine, teamed up with local partners, the Romanian and Ukrainian governments, and UN agencies.
Children are in danger
Conflict is not a new concept for children in Ukraine, a country that has experienced years of violence.
Still, having to leave their homes due to the recent Russian attacks is amplifying the emotional impact of war. They are scared and hungry.
Please donate now: help us provide shelter, food, water, hygiene supplies, mattresses, blankets, psychological support, and safe transportation to prevent human trafficking near the borders.
Our response
381,265 kg of food supplies were delivered to 39,444 households in Odessa, Kyiv, Donetsk, and Kharkiv, in Ukraine, and Constanta, Romania.
- $103,315 worth of medicine has been distributed.
- 2,351 refugees have been safely transported by our two buses from the Isaccea border to Bucuresti in Romania.
- 20,399 Ukrainian children have received psychological support for traumatic violence and/or attended activities at the child-friendly spaces created in shelters.
- Over 40 caregivers have been trained for the psychosocial support of children.
- Shelter support to 2,400 refugees at Galati, Suceava, and Constanta in Romania.
- Washrooms, shower, laundry facilities, and hygiene items provided.

Winter clothing appeal
Good Neighbours Canada recently held a drive for winter clothes donations for Ukrainian families who are still in Ukraine.
Donations are now on their way to Good Neighbours Romania for distribution across Ukraine throughout February 2023. Thank you to everyone who supported this drive!
