The Good Neighbours & Friends program provides local Canadian businesses the opportunity to contribute to positive global change through economic development and sustainability in the global south. Donations from this project go directly to supporting marginalized communities around the world through income-generating projects that are designed to both empower them and promote independence and self-reliance. This initiative provides small businesses in Canada the opportunity to participate in global positive change through a monthly donation.

Romena, living with her husband and two sons in Kamalganj, Bangladesh, struggled with financial hardship. Her children suffered from malnutrition and couldn’t attend school.
With support from Good Neighbours, Romena received the training and financial support to start a quail farming business. She became economically independent, hired two employees, and contributed to the local economy. Her efforts were recognized with the Joyeta Award for her entrepreneurial spirit
and social impact.
Today, Romena not only supports her family but also brings hope to her community.

The pandemic brought severe challenges for women heads of households, many of whom lost their jobs and struggled to support their families. To help, Good Neighbours launched ‘Mujer Avanza’, an economic empowerment project.
In a small village in El Salvador, women in the textile industry received training in production and business management. Together, they established a factory and now handle large-scale orders as an independent co-operative.
These women have achieved financial stability, moving from reliance to self-reliance, showcasing the power of opportunity and determination.

Yes, you can cancel your monthly donation any time. Note that agreements renew every year, and donations that have already been made cannot be refunded anymore. To cancel or modify your donation, please contact hello@gncanada.ca or call us at 647-370-4113.
Yes, tax receipts will be shared in a consolidated format at the end of each tax year for your convenience. Throughout the duration of your support, if your legal name or mailing address changes, please get in touch with the Good Neighbours Canada team to make sure that we include the correct details on your tax receipt. It will be emailed to you through the contact information that you have provided for us.
