About Us

30 Years of Empowering People and Transforming Communities

Founded in South Korea, Good Neighbours works in over 50 countries and has helped over 8 million people across the globe since 1991. In partnership with United Nations agencies, we are a humanitarian organization that believes in empowering people to transform communities. We are committed to supporting vulnerable and marginalized groups through enhancing wellbeing and promoting positive, sustainable and community-driven change.

Besides working with local governments, we cooperate with United Nations agencies, like the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the World Food Programme (WFP).

In 2015, the United Nations developed the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at its core. The Agenda involves a global initiative to tackle poverty at its root while achieving sustainable development in its three dimensions – economic, social and environmental.

Good Neighbours aims to further the UN’s Development Goals through their projects and partnerships.

Good Neighbours Canada is a registered charity in Toronto, Ontario, that supports people in need locally and internationally. We have been operating in Canada since 2017, implementing a wide range of inclusive community-based development projects and providing emergency relief.

Our primary objective is to work closely with the communities we serve, fostering collaboration and understanding. Through a collaborative approach, we strive to develop programs and initiatives that are tailored to address the unique circumstances and requirements of each community.
