Birch Tree Initiative: supporting newcomers in London

Social enterprises and small businesses are still struggling with the restrictions COVID-19 brought us. Back in July 2020, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) estimated that 158,000 small- and medium-sized businesses were at risk of closing.

For those settling and adjusting to life in Canada, it can be a particularly challenging time.

Although this pandemic has been tough, it has also presented us with the opportunity to grow and persevere. To help our community in different ways. To find meaningful connections despite being distanced.

New hope
Good Neighbors Canada is launching our Birch Tree Initiative in London, Ontario. Just as the tree symbolizes new beginnings, we want to help newcomers and refugees participate in the local economy.

If you create sustainable handmade products for sale, we are accepting vendor applications for our Goods4Causes online store. We are offering the use of our platform free of charge, thanks to funding from the London Community Foundation.

You can sell sustainable jewelry, accessories, clothing, footwear, artwork, toys, and other items. Due to COVID-19, we are unable to accept applications for food vendors and services. The platform is for unused products only.

If you are not a newcomer, we will soon open applications under Good Neighbors & Friends.
