Volunteer Medical Team for Venezuela Earthquake Response
Good Neighbours Canada is seeking expressions of interest from qualified Canadian physicians and registered nurses to participate in a short-term humanitarian medical mission supporting communities affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela.
The initial deployment will consist of a minimum of four medical professionals who will work alongside local healthcare professionals, interpreters, and operational staff. Based on needs identified during the initial mission, Good Neighbours Canada may arrange additional medical team deployments.

Tentative Deployment Periods

The total deployment is expected to be approximately 7-10 days, including international travel and local orientation, with approximately 7–10 days of field activities. Final dates may be adjusted based on visa processing, local authorization, security conditions, and flight availability.
Initial Team Composition
Good Neighbours Canada intends to deploy a minimum of:
One selected medical professional will be designated as the Medical Team Lead.
Applicants who are not selected for the initial mission may be considered for subsequent medical deployments.

Previous humanitarian, international, disaster-response, or remote-community experience is an asset. Spanish-language ability is also an asset, although local interpretation support is expected to be available.

Applicants should be aware that the Government of Canada currently advises Canadians to avoid all travel to Venezuela. Selected candidates will receive a security briefing and will be required to provide informed consent before deployment.
Information regarding airfare, accommodation, meals, local transportation, insurance coverage, and other deployment-related expenses will be confirmed with shortlisted applicants before they make a final commitment.
