Good Neighbors Canada, in collaboration with the City of Toronto, hosted its highly anticipated second Good4People workshop on entrepreneurship development on May 27, 2023. The event was a resounding success, building upon the achievements of the ongoing workshop series. Enha Brondo, a seasoned expert in the social enterprise and business development field, brought her enthusiasm and expertise to lead our group of Good4People community members through a comprehensive exploration of the fundamental principles of marketing, using a research-based approach of Small-Medium scale businesses in Canada. The approach focused specifically on the "6Ps" framework: Prospect, Product, Price, Place, Promotion, and People.
The workshop was designed to engage participants, and involve them in practical exercises that were equally accessible and engaging both in-person and online. Some of our Good4People members expressed their interest in attending the session but were not available to attend on the day, and so Enha kindly volunteered to record an online version of the session so that these individuals could participate remotely. Our participants gained valuable insights into the process of understanding the preferences of target customers, identifying market gaps, and strategically positioning their offerings.
Beyond the fundamental principles of marketing, the workshop also emphasized the importance of cultivating the right business mindset and understanding the complexities of different business model types. It highlighted the crucial role of entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to adapt to evolving market needs. Participants gained valuable knowledge on how successful entrepreneurs leverage their chosen business models to create sustainable and profitable enterprises. By examining these practical examples, attendees were inspired to critically assess their own business models, identify areas for improvement, and explore new avenues for growth and expansion. The workshop equipped participants with the confidence and expertise required to transform their entrepreneurial dreams into reality.
